Technical Sales Manager

The key objectives of Perpetual Next

Your key mission is to identify the client’s needs and find ways how Perpetual Next’s Carbon Products can be utilized in their processes. In this role, you’re one of the key players of the sales team during the entire sales journey from lead to writing the winning offer. Of course, you work not alone. This means that, together with your technical and commercial colleagues, you will carry out the pre-qualification, specify the customer's request, and then work with all disciplines to come up with a conclusive offer.

Basically, these are your main tasks:

  • You attend client meetings and keep track of technical requirements and translate this in executable solutions.
  • You stimulate international cooperation with the involved departments in the UK, The Netherlands and other countries where the company is active.
  • You are the technology gate keeper of all requirements for different types of installations and applications.
  • You are to challenge initial customer requirements to obtain a deeper understanding to engineer the best solution.
  • You are responsible to know and understand all products availability, use, benefits and pricing structure.
  • You provide input in contractual agreements for products and services.
  • You prepare and explain quotations / tenders to customers, while providing technical expertise to turn the quote into a sale.
  • You consult with customers and provide technical expertise and recommendations based on the required applications.
  • You partner with the marketing team to contribute information towards the marketing strategy by monitoring competitive products and reactions from the industry.
  • You nurture new accounts as well as prospect and build new relationships.
  • You participate in new and changed product development, formulation and specification of these products and plant trials.
  • You determine project specifications by updating plant designs, cost estimates and performance standards.

The Requirements

  • You have 10+ years of experience in the field
  • You have a Bachelor's/Master's degree in a technical field
  • You have a technical background or proven affinity with technology
  • You have at least 5+ years' experience in technical sales in the area of utility, process- or manufacturing industry process
  • You have knowledge and experience in one of client’s foreseen key markets, utility, steel or cement sector, chemicals, building materials, agricultural sector
  • You have experience in drafting technical tenders
  • You have extensive experience with preparation of data for the conclusion of contracts with customers and contractors
  • You are proficient in utilizing various sales techniques
  • You are fluent in English
  • You are flexible and enjoy to travel
  • You have experience contract and project management skills
