We make the manufacturing industry sustainable

The history of man and material cannot be seen separately. It is impossible to imagine our lives without the steel, cement and chemical industry and utilities, as well as the building and agricultural sectors. Without one of them, our lives would be fundamentally different.

In the year 2020, the combined weight of all our man-made materials exceeded the weight of all biomass on earth for the first time: an unimaginable 1,154 gigatons (source: correspondent).

You can imagine the impact this had on the changing climate. That is why we create solutions to help these industries achieve circular and fossil-free production. In our view, this is the only way our industry can continue to provide our growing global population with everything it needs, without ever harming life on earth again.

Our mission is to support the heavy industry in its transformation to Net Zero. We do this with our carbonisation technologies, renewable carbon products and green gas.

Perpetual Carbon, our trademark name for our renewable carbon products (biocoal and biochar), has the same properties as fossil coal. Our high-quality carbon can partially or fully replace coal in various industries and applications. This way industries don’t require new carbon to be mined and brought into our atmosphere.

Perpetual Gas, the trademark name for our green gas, has the same properties as fossil natural gas and can be injected directly into the natural gas grid as a substitute.

For these industries we have solutions to reduce the use of fossil carbon (fuels and raw materials). We build tailor-made carbonisation solutions for the steel industry and cement industry. Find out below how we can help you reduce carbon emissions in your industry and support you to scale quickly and make an impact for a sustainable future.

We work together with our partners in several green decentralised solutions. Some of these conversion solutions can be found on the utilities page.

At the same time, with our in-house technology & knowledge combined with our network of partners, we are working on the solutions of tomorrow for the chemical industry.

We are determined to make an impact in carbon removal by our reversed mining program. We cannot get to Net Zero without carbon removal. We collaborate with the building industry and agriculture industry to generate carbon credits, that enable any kind of industry to become Net Zero.

One of the most significant ways to reduce environmental impact is by reducing your carbon footprint, and this starts with monitoring carbon emissions. See infographic below.

Sustainability is a business imperative and should not be considered as a mere component of corporate social responsibility

GHG (GREEN HOUSE GAS) EMISSIONS, SCOPE 1, 2 & 3 EXPLAINED

This infographic explains emission scopes 1, 2 & 3 (as defined by the GHG Protocol). According to the leading GHG Protocol corporate standard, a company's greenhouse gas emissions are classified into three scopes. Scope 1 and 2 are mandatory to report, whereas scope 3 is voluntary and the hardest to monitor. If your carbon accounting is covering all three scopes, you have set yourself up for a competitive advantage in sustainability and you've taken the first important step in making your business carbon neutral.
