The Eemsgas project (formerly known als ‘Torrgas Delfzijl’) is aiming to build a commercial gasification plant in Delfzijl based on residual woody biomass streams.
This plant will produce syngas, green gas, carbon and steam from carbonised residual wood. The project involves the construction of a gasification plant, a gas cleaning system and a methanation system. The aim is to supply green gas to the natural gas network, and steam to the local steam network. Gasunie is developing this plant in close collaboration with Perpetual Next.
